My home in Bujumbura
Yesterday we finally made it to the beach. It's about 90 degrees here. There are beautiful beaches on Lake Tanganyika-- the water is wonderfully warm and there are the soaring mountains of Burundi and Congo in the distance. There's also a legendary crocodile named Gustave, but fortunately we didn't see him :) This week I'll be finishing up some reports in the LWF office, shopping at the market, and saying goodbye to Burundi :( It really has been an amazing experience and I'm looking forward to sharing stories with all of you..

wow! nice digs!! are you sure you want want to move back to commonwealth??
Your home looks wonderful. Did you do any journaling or take time for reflection while chillin' at the beach? I imagine you've had plenty of wonderful and challenging conversations with people. So much you must be thinking about.
Can't wait for you to come home.
Yeeeaaah, you're coming home soon, Friday, right? Glad to know you're ok. Man, from the outside your apartment looks pretty good. So you were able to attend mass. What was that like? Those beaches sound amazing over there. Make sure to enjoy enough for the both of us over this last week. Sounds like you've been having a hard and eye opening experience (by the way that classroom experience you described with the teacher living in the back of the room sounds crazy). Can't wait to hear more when you get back. Let us know exactly when you will be getting in. Safe travels...
